According to the 2018 Building Regulations (BR18) in sections “§297-§298 climate impacts,” annual life cycle assessments must be conducted over a 50-year evaluation period in accordance with the DS/EN15978:2012 standard, which specifies the method for life cycle assessments (LCA). LCA involves assessing all environmental impacts of materials and systems in construction.
Previously, the limit for climate impact has only applied to new constructions over 1000 m2, set at 12 kg CO2-eq/m2/year. From 2025, these limits will also include new constructions under 1000 m2 which will follow the tightening of limits for constructions over 1000 m2 (see graph):

Our focus extends beyond assisting our clients and architectural partners with mandatory documentation. We aim to utilize calculations and analyses during early design phases to ensure coherence between economic objectives, environmental goals, comfort, and health in construction.
